Effect of Turning Parameter and Fiber Pullout on Machinability of Unidirectional EGFRP under Cryogenic Condition

The non-homogeneous and anisotropic nature of composites poses challenges during machining, requiring the use specialized cutting tools. GFRP materials were selected for their excellent elasticity, corrosion resistance, high strength, making them ideal applications in aerospace automotive industries. In this work, surface quality UD-GFRP composite bars CNC machining diverse conditions (dry, wet, cryogenic) was investigated while considering fiber-pullout issue. UD-EGFRP have been machined with a polycrystalline diamond tool. Taguchi-L9 orthogonal-array technique is used to investigate further analysis. Three independent-variables feed rate, rotational speed or speed, depth cut taken into account optimal design get better machinability EGFRP. This study also investigates delamination criterion establishes correlation between its input parameters output responses. findings revealed that cryogenic led notable improvement 25.21% roughness compared other lubrication methods. Also, reduction from 84 µm 34 signifies cooling effectively mitigated occurrence fiber-pullout.
